Ingredients:

Cabbage
8-10 baby red potatoes
Medium-sized bowl of water to prevent browning
1 bulb of garlic with 10-12 cloves
Onions (to taste)
Optional corn
Cooking oil
Soup bones
Black pepper
Salt
Soy sauce
Purified water through reverse osmosis
Plantains

Cookware:

Large pot
Large plate or tray for food preparation
Small bowls for holding garlic cloves and chopped onions
Optional bowl for holding corn
Cutting board
Knife
Peeler
Spatula for stirring

Instructions:

Step 1 - Cut the cabbage in half. Slice each half into four equal parts and set aside on a large plate or tray. Trim any unwanted portions such as rotting leaves.

Step 2 - Fill a large bowl with water. Place peeled baby red potatoes in the bowl to prevent them from browning as you prepare the rest.

Step 3 - Set aside the bowl of water and peeled potatoes. Cut open a bulb of garlic and remove the cloves. Chop the cloves and set aside.

Step 4 - Cut an onion in half, peel it and chop into a grid of six squares.

Step 5 - Slice the baby red potatoes into smaller chunks.

Step 6 - Pour cooking oil into a pot and heat on high. Make sure the pot is rated for high temperatures.

Step 7 - Clean and prepare the soup bones and set aside. Add the chopped garlic to the pot and stir until golden brown.

Step 8 - Add the chopped onions and sauté for several minutes.

Step 9 - Add the soup bones, black pepper, salt, and soy sauce to the pot. Stir to coat the soup bones lightly.

Step 10 - Pour in purified water, enough to submerge the ingredients. Let boil for 30-40 minutes. Cooking times will vary based on altitude, and the entire cooking process will take approximately two hours.

Step 11 - Wash, peel, and cut the plantains. Add to the pot 20-30 minutes after the potatoes. Add the corn 10-20 minutes later, and the cabbage 10-15 minutes after that.

Step 12 - Gently stir the ingredients every so often. Cook until the cabbage, corn, meat, plantains, and potatoes are to your liking.

Step 13 - Turn off the heat and serve. Enjoy!
